Sponsored by North America’s largest natgas producers and oil companies, the stated objective of the JA Careers in Energy program is “to teach middle school students about different types of energy and the careers available in the energy industry. Students will learn what types of energy work best in different areas and the environmental impacts of each. In Western PA, the Marcellus Shale natural gas deposits will be used as an example of a local, natural energy source that provides many opportunities through the local economy, employment and development of the region.”
